I'm more than somewhat jealous. Sony is s*** with freebies.
If only the Kindles still came with expansion cards and read .epub.
Yeah, I've been thinking about upgrading to a Kindle 3 (which they just announced) and I wish it still had the expansion card. But they have upgraded the memory to hold 3,500 books now. So that is better at least.
And you can get the free books if you download the Kindle for PC application. There are lots of people that have that without having a Kindle.
